We had the most amazing engage day to launch our learning about the Anglo-Saxons. We discovered how Anglo-Saxons wove their own clothes and had a go at weaving ourselves. We also learnt how natural resources were used to dye fabric different colours, before experimenting with our own cloth using fruit and vegetables.

We explored Anglo-Saxon writing by learning how to write our names in runes using ink and quills, which really helped us imagine what life was like in the past. As part of our history learning, we researched Anglo-Saxon weapons and carefully sketched artefacts from the Anglo-Saxon period.

It was a hands-on, exciting day that really brought our new topic to life and got us excited for the learning ahead.
